Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based upon your height and weight. BMI applies to men and women.
The formula for calculating BMI is:
Weight / (Height * Height)) * 703
Assume you are 5'8" tall (68 inches) and 240 pounds. To calculate your BMI:
The following chart helps determine where you fall on the scale:
| Classification | BMI |
| Underweight | Less than 19 |
| Ideal BMI | 19-24.9 |
| Overweight | 25-29.9 |
| Obese | 30-34.9 |
| Severely Obese | 35-39.9 |
| Morbidly Obese | 40-49.9 |
| Super Obese | 50 or more |
